Judita Rajnar Prosen: A Heart on the Journey

Thematic exhibition

The image depicts a fantastical composition that combines elements of humans, animals, machines, and the marine world into an unusual whole. In the foreground is a creature with a green-and-yellow, spiky body resembling a fish or a sea creature. Instead of a conventional head, it has a large round eye and an opening from which white smoke rises. Its body is connected by mechanical tubes and wooden structures, while human limbs protrude from it—an arm reaches toward a lock on a wooden door, and a bare foot dangles below. The entire structure stands on a sort of vehicle made of pipes, wooden wheels, and a recycled plastic bottle. Beneath it, an orange fish with a long snout swims—or rather, hovers—as it approaches an open tin container. Inside the container is a row of silver fish, and attached to the side is a small wheel with white blades, resembling a waterwheel. On the right side grows an unusual plant with orange, hanging branches, reminiscent of an exotic palm tree or a jellyfish. The background consists of wooden frames and a door.

Exhibition opening: Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at 5:00 p.m.

Intergenerational workshop “HEART ON A JOURNEY”: Sunday, February 8, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

The artist Judita often takes her heart on a journey. She steps out of everyday life into the magical world of imagination. Upon her return, she expresses herself through her art—picking up a pencil, a paintbrush, or knitting needles. With these tools, she creates a variety of works, both large and small; one of her larger pieces, interwoven with wire and other materials and surrounded by a crocheted structure, is titled Playfulness, which you’ll also see at the exhibition. Most often, however, she continues her creative journey on paper, where her imaginary and mysterious characters appear—figures she conceives on the spot and brings to life through her drawings.

Join us for an intergenerational workshop where we’ll dance, create, and tell stories together with the artist. Young, old, and everyone in between are welcome!
