On the evening of Thursday, March 19, 2026, we opened a themed exhibition titled “Imprints in Stone” at the Trebnje Gallery of Naïve Artists Trebnje, featuring stone sculptures by the married couple Jožica and Rudi Škof from Novo Mesto.
The exhibition offers a glimpse into their rich creativity, skill, and the expressive power of stone as an artistic medium. The works on display invite visitors to reflect on the passage of time, humanity’s relationship with nature, and the intertwining of the past, present, and future.
At the beginning, the exhibition’s curator, Damjana Šalehar, addressed the audience. Joža Miklič spoke about the artists’ creative bodies of work, while art historian Jožef Matijevič shed light on the significance of the Feast of St. Joseph, which we celebrate on March 19. A special highlight of the event was a musical performance on the so-called “singing stones,” a unique musical instrument created by Rudi Škof. Drago Šulc and Milan Merlin drew sounds from it. Solo and choral singer Ksenija Hren provided the musical interludes, and Ana Modic served as the emcee.
The opening concluded with remarks by the artist, Jožica Škof, and an invitation to mingle over refreshments, during which visitors had the opportunity to explore the exhibited works in greater detail. The exhibition will be on view through May 9, 2026. You are cordially invited to visit!
